Will my insurance cover treatment?

Most insurance companies will cover the cost of endovenous laser treatment as well as microphlebectomy. Depending on your insurance plan you may need a referral from your primary care physician to see a vein specialist. You may call our office if you have any problems getting a referral and we can help you.

Which services are not covered by insurance?

Sclerotherapy is not covered by insurance. Your primary care physician should, however, give you a referral for a consultation with Dr. Schanzer even though further treatment may not necessarily be covered.

How much does a consultation cost?

Consultation is covered by your insurance.

Could I have a venous disorder even if I don't see red or purple vessels?

Yes. Physical examination, often with the aid of specialized equipment such as non-invasive ultrasound, by a professional can detect problems with blood vessels that are not visible otherwise.

What are the treatments for venous diseases?

Dr. Schanzer performs sclerotherapy, microphlebectomy, stripping surgery and endovenous laser ablation for the treatment of venous diseases. Read on for detailed information on these treatments.
